The Murtaya lends itself to being used in a competitive environment and is suitable for use in a number of different Motorsport disciplines, including sprinting, hill climbing, circuit racing and rallying.
With the phenomenal success of the Impreza running in its blood, it was inevitable that the Murtaya would be pressed into service as a stage rally car. Having gained approval from the Motor Sports Association in 2008, the Murtaya complies with the K37 Technical Regulations from 2009, in the new Category 2 classification.
The modern composite monocoque provides a superb platform for a competition car and the high strength and light weight suit the requirements of rallying perfectly. Many design details are changed during the transition from road to rally weapon, including the strengthening of the front subframe and the integration of a full roll cage. We can supply a fully prepared monocoque for those looking to build their own vehicle, or offer a fully built ready-to-rally example from clubman to WRC mechanical specification.
The Murtaya can also be used in circuit racing with approval gained from high profile televised series', such as Britcar. The excellent reliability of the Subaru drivetrain makes the Murtaya well suited to endurance racing.
The lightweight monocoque design, torque rich turbocharged engine and four wheel drive transmission also make the Murtaya ideally suited for the speed events of sprinting and hill climbing, where traction and instant power out of the turns are of paramount importance to recording a good time. The technical regulations for speed events allow for extreme examples of cars to be built and we look forward to seeing some highly innovative builds for these exciting disciplines.
